QUALIFYING SLOTS

FLORIDA QUALIFYING SLOTS
IRONMAN 70.3 GEELONG is an Official Qualifier for the 2008 Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championship to be held in Florida, USA in November 2008. IRONMAN 70.3 GEELONG will be awarding seventy-five (75) qualifying slots for the World Championship.

The distribution of qualifying slots will be in accordance with the rules of the World Triathlon Corporation as they apply at the time of the 2008 IRONMAN 70.3 GEELONG. Qualifying Slots will be allocated proportionately to each age division with the actual number of professional slots determined separately. The winners of each age division will automatically be allocated a slot and the balance will be distributed on a basis proportionate to the number of entrants in each age division.

For Ironman 70.3 World Championship slots, the full fee of US$275 is due at time of claiming your slot. This fee can be paid by credit card, cheque / money order (made payable to IMG) or cash. Please note – if paying in US dollars, you must have the correct amount (no change given).

The following table sets out the distribution of the 75 World Championship slots as they applied to the competitor field at the first Ironman 70.3 event held in Australia (Port Macquarie) in 2006.

As such the distribution should only be used as a guide and the distribution at the Ironman 70.3 Geelong for the 2008 World Championship will be calculated after final registration of the 2008 competitor field is known and will be published at that time in accordance with the World Triathlon Corporation policy.
